After discovering that many NCMS students had little to no exposure to musicals, the NCMS Drama Club, under the direction of Mr. David Bozza, decided to sponsor “Musical Mondays.” On designated Mondays, the Drama Club selects a classic musical to be shown in the NCMS auditorium. All NCMS students are welcome and encouraged to attend. Students that attend “Musical Monday” will get to see quality acting, singing, and choreography at its finest — not to mention the lovely costumes and sets created by some of the best in technical theatre.
NCMS drama teacher David Bozza created Musical Mondays when he realized many of his students had never seen a musical before.
For their first “Musical Monday,” the Drama Club decided to show the 1965 film, The Sound of Music, starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. There is no admission charge for these events. However, snacks can be purchased, and those proceeds will go to benefit the NCMS Drama Club.
After such a successful first Musical Monday, students and teachers look forward to upcoming Musical Mondays that will follow at NCMS!
