Anyone that looks at the Newton-Conover High School Yearbook can tell you that it is quality work. This year their work has paid off. On Friday, May 23, at the Annual Yearbook Dedication and Distribution assembly, Mrs. Essary and her students were recognized by Allison Klopp, representative of Josten’s Yearbook, Inc. Mrs. Klopp stood before the entire student body and staff to announce that their yearbook staff had achieved three distinguishing criteria. One is that at least 65% of the student body can be found in the book three or more times, another is that they met all deadlines all year long and the final is that they increased sales of the book over last year. Only the top 16 out of over 600 schools receive can receive this award.
As a result, the team was recognized with the National Yearbook Program of Excellence award by Jostens. The book is prepared again this year by Mrs. Shelly Essary and her staff. Students on the yearbook staff this year are: Savannah Mae Bynum, Haley Alice Hart, Jeffrey A. Heiser, Erica Nicole Jones, Saskia Liehr, Laura Brooke Little, Chandler Anderson Roffey, Cody, Austin Stallings, Caitlyn Taylor Beatty, Nicholas Prado, Ashton Brooke Sigmon, Gabrielle Xiong, Caleb Beard, Avri Childers, Sophia Davis, Brandi Cox, and Kristen Kaylor.
Congratulations to Ms. Essary and the yearbook staff for a job well-done!
