NCCS Innovative Grants – Apply Now!

nccs

NCCS is excited to announce a new way for teachers to think outside the box in their classrooms during the 2014-15 school year. NCCS Innovation Grants provide teachers an opportunity to implement new and creative ideas to meet the needs of our students. NCCS embraces the fact that every child learns differently and that the number of ways we can engage students is limitless. Our goal, as educators, is to prepare students for college, career, and beyond, and NCCS Innovation Grants will be awarded to fund projects that extend the regular curriculum; encourage higher-level thinking skills; and enrich student learning through culture, art, music, and other activities. Teachers who receive the grant will be able to create memorable, interactive, and enhanced learning experiences that would not be possible without additional funding. These opportunities may include but are not limited to providing engaging learning opportunities outside of the standard curriculum or piloting innovative educational programs.

Eligibility

Grants are available to teachers who work in Newton-Conover City Schools.

Grant Guidelines

NCCS Innovation Grants are intended to inspire student learning, by supplementing rather than supplanting regular district funding. These grants will support the purchase of equipment, materials, or experiences which go beyond school budgets. Innovation Grants are not intended to become a regular funding stream for ongoing projects. Precedence will be given to creative ideas that will provide students with a unique experience to enhance their understanding of content standards.

 Grant Amounts

Individual Teacher grants for classroom projects are limited to $1000. Collaborative Grants (2 or more teachers) are limited to $1500.
