Dr. David Stegall, Superintendent; Heather Mullins, Chief Academic Officer; and Cindy Geddes, Director of Accountability and Technology, traveled to Greensboro on Monday to present to state leaders at the AdvancED North Carolina Fall Conference. The conference provided opportunities for leaders in North Carolina to collaborate with colleagues and share ideas about what works, what doesn’t and what’s around the corner. The two days were filled with workshops, speakers, and opportunities to learn from acclaimed practitioners and recognized educational experts. Keynote speakers included Eric Sheninger, known as The Connected Principal, and James Ford, 2014 Burroughs-Wellcome North Carolina Teacher of the Year. Click here to access the conference program.
The Newton-Conover trio presented two sessions on the topic: From Overwhelmed to Overly Productive: Putting Digital Tools to Work for You. The presentation focused on how district and school leaders can use technology tools to support teaching and learning, increase productivity, and model quality use of tools for others.
