The N-CCS Board of Education met for their October meeting at 6pm on Monday, October 20th, in the N-CCS Board of Education Room. Many successes were shared and celebrated.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by North Newton Elementary student, Emily Deese.
Mr. Kevin Campbell, N-CHS Principal, acknowledged Newton-Conover High School Parent Volunteers, Phil Heath (Athletic Boosters) and David Whelden (Band Boosters), for their strong commitment to N-CHS programs and fundraising.
Ms. Kim Kaylor, N-CMS Principal, recognized Newton-Conover Middle School Community Supporters, Pastor Mark Randolph and his Christ Alive Church staff, Michael Strickland from COVE Church, and Kyle Hayman/Joy Heller, from the City of Conover, for their partnerships to support the N-CMS Bridge Program, Project Unite, and staff meals.
Superintendent, Dr. David Stegall, recognized the Newton-Conover School Board for a Special Achievement Award for successful completion of the 12 hour training requirement by all members for the 2013-2014 school year. Dr. Stegall also recognized N-CCS as being one of the Top Ten Districts in N.C. for Graduation Rates.
In addition to these recognitions, Director Bill Long acknowledged Pastor Bob Silber of ECCCM for his generous work with providing student and family resources through the Student Hunger Prevention Program.
It was a good night to say, “WE are Newton-Conover!”
