Mr. Jonathan Tharpe, 4th grade teacher at North Newton Elementary School, was awarded a $1,000 grant from Corning Corporation in Hickory on Wednesday, Dec. 17th. Mr. Tharpe is using the grant to implement MobyMax in every classroom at North Newton. MobyMax is for all students in grades K-8. Moby’s adaptive curriculum creates a unique, individualized education plan for each student in an electronic format. The curriculum will help students to learn and grow in each academic skill area, and it will allow teachers to individualize students’ assignments and monitor students’ progress. Congratulations to Mr. Tharpe for this accomplishment and to North Newton for gaining a great new resource! Mr. Tharpe is pictured third from the right in this photo.
