Mrs. Albano’s English Language Learner (ELL) classes, in conjunction with the 6th grade ancient civilization study of Mesopotamia, presented two scripts this past week in front of sixth grade classes. Readers’ Theatre is an excellent means to incorporate reading, speaking, and listening into an instructional framework. When participating in Readers’ Theatre, students have an opportunity to develop scripts, perform in groups, and practice using their voice to depict characters/historical figures they read about in text. Students also increase their comprehension skills and learn their content in a new and exciting way. While addressing reading fluency, expression, voice, and tier 3 vocabulary, students have worked collaboratively and have excelled at N-CMS!
