Newton-Conover High School Students Compete in Science Olympiads 2015

Regional Science Olympiad 2015Congratulations N-CHS Science Olympiad Team!

On February 28th, 2015 the Newton-Conover High School Varsity Science Olympiad Team attended and competed at the Winston-Salem Regional Science Olympiad competition. The competition took place at Atkins Academic and Technology High School in Winston-Salem, NC. The N-CHS team competed against 11 other high school Science Olympiad teams from surrounding areas in engineering and academic events. Students on our team were awarded medals in 4 of the competitive events and came in 7th overall! Check out our students’ accomplishments below!

2nd place Chem Lab & 2nd place Green GenerationDarvinash Chandra Mohan and Henry Cox were awarded 2nd place in two of the competitive events at the regional tournament. They were tested in both chemistry and environmental sustainability concepts. Congratulations! 3rd place ForensicsChasey Davis and Stefanny Villar were awarded 3rd place in one of the competitive events. The Forensics event involved determining the events of a crime based upon crime scene evidence. Congratulations! 3rd place It Matters!Henry Cox was awarded 3rd place for the It Matters! competitive event. This event involved station tests on chemistry and other physical science concepts. Congratulations!
