According to soinc.org, Science Olympiad has led a revolution in science education for the past 31 years. What began as a grassroots assembly of science teachers is now one of the most well-known and successful science competitions in the United States. The competition experience provides rigorous, standards-based challenges to nearly 7,000 teams in 50 states. Science Olympiad’s timely and innovative line-up of events in all STEM disciplines exposes students to practicing scientists and career choices, and provides classroom teachers with a dynamic content experience, enriching their classroom instruction, as well.
This year’s competition was located at CVCC in Hickory, but the Discovery team now qualifies to compete at the state level next month! We wish them the best, and we know that they will be well-prepared and ready to advance on to the next round and dominate the competition!
