This is the Governor’s School of North Carolina . . .
Two campuses. One vision. Over fifty years of experience. http://www.ncgovschool.org/
Recently, both N-CHS and Discovery High School guidance departments received the exciting news that all three N-CCS students who were nominated this year received appointments to the 2015 session of Governor’s School! N-CHS Principal, Kevin Campbell, suggested that it is extremely rare for all three nominees in a school district to receive actual appointments to the coveted summer enrichment experience. Aoife Sinclair, Discovery High junior, and Sydney Karre, N-CHS junior, will be attending Governor’s School West at Salem College for English studies. Darvinash Chandra Mohan, also a N-CHS junior, will be attending Governor’s School East at Meredith College for math studies.
When asked what they were most excited about, these phenomenal students shared that they couldn’t wait to study the subject areas they enjoy in a more in-depth fashion for the sheer purpose of learning, and not to earn a grade. They also expressed their eagerness to meet various people from all walks of life, experience independence in a whole new way, and broaden their horizons by attending interesting seminars and exploring further topics of interest. N-CCS could not be more proud of these young leaders, as they embark on these new and enlightening journeys!
