Shuford’s Robotic Club is an after school club that has immersed students in the world of engineering by completing STEM activities. Students have been given real world situations, where they are responsible for programming their own robot to compete in a collaborative and creative setting. Shuford’s Robotics Club has provided students with 21stcentury skills while focusing on collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. By nurturing the students’ curiosity of robotics, Shuford’s Robotics Club is aiming to provide students with and an enticing view into science and engineering careers.
The teachers are very active in helping shape the young minds at Shuford in the Robotics program. Imagine helping young children create robots that must be able to complete missions. This is exactly what they are doing in Robotics club. The students must have an understanding of computer programming to guide their robots to complete the mission that is set.
Shuford is very thankful to have had the opportunity to apply for an innovative grant this year to make the Robotics program come to life!
