On Thursday March 26, 2015, N-CCS school board members, administrators, and bus drivers joined together in the N-CCS Board of Education room to enjoy a lovely dinner, some special words from Dr. Gabriel, Dr. Stegall, and Dr. Rosenbalm, and a magic show by a very talented local magician, Mr. Andy Lackey. Bus drivers were also honored with certificates for safe driving and t-shirts.
Drivers who had reached certain driving milestones received special recognition with commemorative pins. Clarissa Hickman, teacher assistant at Conover School, received a pin for 5 years of driving for our district. Tina Ross, teacher assistant at Conover School, and Monica Setzer, teacher assistant at South Newton Elementary, received pins for 15 years of successful driving. Connie Teague (Conover School) and Sandy Childers (N-CMS) received pins for an amazing 25 years of safe driving! Lastly, Cheryl McCombs, teacher assistant at Conover School, received a personalized plaque with a picture of her bus on it for driving a bus for an incredible forty years! What an accomplishment!
N-CCS wishes to thank these hard-working, caring, and devoted drivers for their commitment to bringing our precious cargo to and from school each and every day. These bus drivers are yet another reason why we are proud to say, “We are Newton-Conover!”
