On October 16 from 9:30 to 1:30, Conover School’s high school department took approximately 40 students to Glenn Hilton Park in Hickory, NC. The purpose of the trip was to allow the high school students to experience nature, and also to learn about the preservation of nature through learning about pollution, the environment and wildlife.
The students split into teams and rotated through stations, which included several groups. One group went on environmental walks, another group looked at the impact of
trash on the environment and animals’ natural habitat, and the final group focused on story-telling. This latter group also picked up leaves to create collages.
