ScreenCastify” can be added to your suite of google apps and extensions from the online Google Chrome Web Store (CLICK HERE to get ScreenCastify).  This Google Chrome Extension allows students to produce a screencast from one tab within google chrome, the desktop of their device, or a video from the webcam itself.  The screencast or video that they record will be automatically stored within their google drive and then they can simply share it with you or others just like a google doc or slides presentation.  This is a great way to work around not being able to download the screencast-o-matic program on the Chromebooks.  You can also click on the following link for the directions on how to use the application: https://www.screencastify.com/

All students that have an active NCCS google account will be able to save this Google Chrome Extension, produce a variety of recorded digital products, save, and share them easily.  If you would like any assistance using ScreenCastify in your classroom, please feel free to email me at caroline_mccrary@nccs.k12.nc.us
