South Newton Teachers Win CenturyLink Technology Grant

clinkJulianne Surratte (1st grade teacher) and Shannon Mullins (1st/2nd grade teacher) were surprised today during student clubs when they were awarded the CenturyLink Teachers and Technology Grant. Surratte and Mullins wrote the $1200 grant requesting digital cameras for their photography and yearbook clubs. CenturyLink Foundation will award a total of $1.4 million dollars this year to support teachers who use technology to enhance instruction in the classroom.

The students in the clubs witnessing the event were just as excited as the teachers to find out about their new devices since they will be the ones using them! Way to go, Mrs. Surratte and Mrs. Mullins! South Newton is very proud you are LEADing the way to procure awesome resources for our students!
