About Caroline McCrary

Hello everyone! I am Caroline McCrary, science teacher at Newton-Conover High School. For the 2017-2018 school year, I will be teaching the following courses: Biology, Honors Biology, Biology II Honors, and AP Biology. A little bit about me... I graduated in May of 2017 with my Masters degree in the Biological Sciences from Clemson University! Go Tigers! I received both a Bachelors degree in Biology - Secondary Education and a Bachelors degree in Biology - Ecology and Evolutionary Sciences from Appalachian State University! Go APPs! During the 2014-2015 school year, I was a part of the Governor's Teacher Network, a program developed by NCDPI and the Governor's office. I was able to develop lesson plans for biology that will be shared with teachers across the entire state of North Carolina. Needless to say, I love to teach and sharing what I learn with others. I currently serve on both the Technology Team and Curriculum Council for the N-CCS district as a high school representative and assist in presenting professional development to teachers in our district. I had the distinct honor of being awarded 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year for Newton-Conover High School and I am extremely humbled to say that I was selected as the 2016-2017 Newton Conover City Schools district Teacher of the Year. I also greatly enjoy music, spending time outdoors, and spending time with my family. I hope to make learning science fun for your students and if you would like to contact me, please feel free to do so via email or by calling the school. caroline.mccrary@n-ccs.org
