NCCS Supports Autism Awareness Month

Nearly a quarter century ago, the Autism Society launched a nationwide effort to promote autism awareness, inclusion and self-determination for all, and to assure that each person with Autism Spectrum Disorder is provided the opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life.

The Autism Awareness Puzzle Ribbon is the most recognized symbol of the autism community in the world. Autism prevalence is now one in every 68 children in America.

Each April 2nd, Autism Speaks celebrates the start of its signature campaign, Light It Up Blue. In Support for Autism Awareness, Newton Conover participated in Lighting Our District Blue! Spirit Rocks were painted blue and to advertise for Autism. While staff and students wore blue in celebration as well.
