Good news, Google users! Google and Canvas have collaborated to form a BRAND new, hot-off-the-press Learning Tool Integration (LTI) in Canvas — that will integrate all of Google Drive! This has been enabled for our Canvas instance this summer (you will see the Google Drive link in the left sidebar in your Canvas courses), and it is available for you to test! You must simply authenticate your Google Account with your Canvas Account one time to permanently sync the two — students will do this only once, as well.
Here are some resources for more information on the Google integration, how to authenticate, and what that integration allows you to do with Canvas and Google Drive tools:
- Google LTI Canvas Guide
- Google LTI Series: Canvas in Overdrive with Google Drive video overview (demo starts around the 11:00 mark)
- Google LTI for Canvas video

Additionally, here is a quick video for you to see how it works in your Canvas courses!
Want to set up this integration in Canvas, but aren’t sure where to begin? Check with your school’s Digital Learning Facilitator or Jamie Frye, Instructional Technology Facilitator, for support!
