Student Engages in Apprenticeship Catawba at Technibilt

Newton-Conover High School is proud to announce that Erick Rivera-Vargas has been accepted into Apprenticeship Catawba and is employed at Technibilt. Apprenticeship Catawba is a partnership between local advanced manufacturing companies and Newton-Conover City Schools.  Students who are accepted in the program will begin a 4 year journey where they attend CVCC for classes and perform 8,000 hours of on-the-job training provided by local manufacturing companies. Technibilt will pay 100% of Erick’s tuition and books and he will earn a paycheck while earning a degree. Erick will receive his 2-year degree in mechatronics engineering technology or computer integrated machining technology from CVCC. When he graduates from this program he will be guaranteed a job at Technibilt making at least $34,000 year.
