Administrator Spotlight: Jill Hager

In honor of Principals’ Appreciation Month, Newton-Conover City Schools will be spotlighting its incredible Principals from now through the end of October.  Today’s feature is on Ms. Jill Hager, Instructional Coach of North Newton Elementary School!

Jill Hager currently serves at North Newton Elementary as the instructional coach and has for the past 10 years and was a former  K-2 classroom teacher for 9 years.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1997 and obtained her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2012, both from Appalachian State University.  In May of 2017, she completed her add-on in administration from Gardner-Webb University.  Jill currently lives in Statesville with her husband Tim and her two daughters, Blakely and Allie.  She enjoys hiking, four-wheeling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Responsibilities: Support K-5 teachers with curriculum and instruction, testing coordinator, and supervisor on duty in absence of principal.


About Leah Bobbett

Leah attends Lenoir-Rhyne University as a senior. At Lenoir-Rhyne she has taken coursework in public relations, broadcast, journalism, and public speaking. She has also taken classes on argumentation, advocacy, and rhetoric. During summers previous she has worked with a number of organizations, to assist in their public relations departments, their social media departments, and planning events for them. On campus, she is currently the social media director for the SARA Club. Leah wrote for the Lenoir-Rhyne student newspaper, the LRN Monthly, for two semesters. Leah is also part of Lambda Pi Eta, the communications honor society for college students.
