Photo of Eric RamseurMr. Ramseur works as a High School Mathematics Teacher at Discovery High School.  This year, Mr. Ramseur is teaching Math 1, Math 2, & Math 3 while assisting in the online AP- Calculus AB/BC courses. Upon graduation with his Bachelor’s Degree from Pembroke State University, Mr. Ramseur went directly to graduate school at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.  There, he was a Graduate Teaching Fellow in the math department.  Upon completion of his master’s in mathematics, he began teaching college level mathematics at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN in the Developmental Studies Department.  Mr. Ramseur was honored to receive an opportunity to work in the highly competitive College Preparatory Program at Saudi Aramco in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia from June 1994 to March 2017. While there, he became certified in AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus AB/BC.

Mr. Ramseur simply enjoys learning, doing, and teaching mathematics. He is thoroughly moved when he sees a student that has a strong math anxiety overcome their fear and be able to learn and/or comprehend a topic in math of which he/she initially had no clue. Moreover, making Trigonometry and/or Calculus less intimidating is rewarding as over the years roughly 75% of his students were being trained to be engineers.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis, basketball, softball, and riding bikes. He also enjoys coaching/helping student athletes participating in cross-country, track and field, tennis, and basketball. Finally he finds it quite rewarding helping and being a role model for the youth at his church in math and test prep courses such as PSAT, SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement Calculus AB/BC.
