two teachers standing on either side of a whiteboard that has magnetic stickers on it to communicate Ms. Blevins and Cangemi were 2017-18 Innovative Grant Winners from Conover School, who received funding to create an adaptive board for visually impaired students will contain a lower number of large, high contrast symbols. Based on mobility, vision, and communication impairments within the classroom, we want to create a life-size, mobile, 2-sided core board (48”x72”). The board will contain 40 core vocabulary (high-frequency vocabulary words that are useful in expressing needs and wants in various contexts or settings) which can be used during play, Spinstruction, and to assist with functional skills.  For more information on how to create your adaptive board reach out to Conover School.
