Providing Structured to students with Autism

The student is working on learning from visual supports.Dr. Bridges and Ms. Hudson are 2017-18 Innovative Grant recipients who focused on providing structure to students with Autism.  The program serving students at North Newton Elementary is Principles of Structured TEACCHing.  The program helps to explain that students with autism benefit from an environment that is visually structured to help address their learning styles and help them become more independent.   Some of the fundamental ways this is accomplished, is through environmental design, visual supports, schedules, and work systems.  For more information on the Principles of Structured TEACCHing, contact North Newton Elementary.
