NCHS Students Submit Designs to Vans Custom Culture Contest

Congratulations to Liam Poteet, Raven Travis, Tiffany Bruce and Brenda Vang for participating in the nation wide Custom Culture Contest by Vans shoes. These students designed four styles of shoes. Their designs were submitted to the Vans headquarters in California.  Each of their designs is now in competition for a $50,000 dollar art scholarship.  The contest winner will also be honored by having ... Fifth grade students at Shuford Elementary recently explored the human body systems by dissecting frogs! Catawba County Science Center came in the classroom to help the students learn how the anatomy of a frog related to the human body. Read Across America at Shuford

Read Across America week was a great success this year at Shuford Elementary. There were lots of fun activities every day of the week. Highlights of the week were guest readers, class partner reading, family reading night, and eating green eggs and ham.
